Welcome to the

"Christopher (1774) Main" web site.

The purpose of this site is to document  information about Christopher Main  (1774-1866)
and his wife Amelia Weaver (1778-1841). The site is intended to be a resource for their descendants
and to solicit information that will solve the mystery of who their parents were and where they came from.
While Christopher is supposedly from Stonington CT, no record has yet placed him there. The first mention
of him, to be found to date, is as a witness to a deed in Chenango County New York in 1802.

If this is your line or if you have any information about where Christopher or Amelia came from,
please email mmmain@mac.com.

If you have a MAIN surname and are a male, please consider joining the MAIN surname Y DNA
study at http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Main. If you are a female, try to convince a father,
brother, uncle or male cousin with the Main surname to participate. Data from this project shows
that the results for this descendant of Christopher Main are very similar to those of three other men
who can trace their ancestry to Stonington CT and are known descendants of the first Ezekiel Main.
